Review:
Fantastically damaged metal-mouthed motormouth Cage is set to release Hell’s Winter, his second album and first for Definitive Jux, on September 20th—and boy is it a doozy. Dead girlfriends, abusive junkie dads, molesting psychiatrists, pedophile priests, orange alerts and beef galore are just the tip of the moody iceberg.

Fellow jukies El-P and Camu Tao mastermind the majority of the apocalyptic production, with RJD2 lending a hand to an austere head-nodder featuring Glassjaw’s Darryl Palumbo and DJ Shadow turning on the heavy drums for the Bush-bashing tirade "Grand Ol’ Party Crash" (which features a yee-hawing G.W played by none other than Jello Biafra!). Even James McNew (Yo La Tengo) and Matt Sweeny (ex-Chavez) stop by to add a little bass and guitar to this cinematic fever dream.

A 10" of the title track is available now when you join the Club Meds, the Def Jux fan club. The inaugural package gets you online-only releases, T-shirts, belt-buckles and the blood-red "Hell’s Winter" vinyl. A 12" single for the SuicideGirl anthem "Scenester" b/w "Left It To Us" (featuring El-P, Aesop Rock, Tame 1 and Yak Ballz) will drop at the end of July for all the radioheads in need of a fix.
