Busta Rhymes has been arrested again, this time for driving with a suspended license after police pulled over his car in New York for running a red light.
Busta Rhymes was taken into custody in lower Manhattan around 5:30 a.m. on February 26, 2007. He’s due back in court this Thursday to answer the new charges, and faces up to 15 days in jail if convicted.
In related legal problems for the Aftermath Artist, we recently covered an offer made by Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Tanya Kennedy to Busta who has has now a month to consider a plea deal that would keep him out of jail for two unrelated assaults.
If he accepts Kennedy’s deal, which would cover both third-degree assaults, Busta would also be on probation for three years. The judge told the rapper he had until March 26 to accept the deal or go to trial, where he could face up to two years in prison. If he accepts the deal and meets conditions of the proposed sentence, the charges would be dropped in six months.
