Big Shug is a core member of the Gangstarr Foundation alongside DJ Premier & Guru. Big Shug has appeared on most Gangstarr albums and has toured the world many times with them, including Australia. He is also best known for being part of the Militia. The Militia consists of Big Shug, Freddie Foxxx,and Guru.

Shug ’s long awaited solo album, "Who’s Hard ?", is finally coming out on Sureshot Recordings (home to albums by Ol Dirty Bastard, Consequence & Rahzel ) . The legendary beatsmith DJ Premier handles most of the production, as well as The Alchemist , & theres appearances from the likes of Guru , Bumpy Knuckles & Freddie Foxxx.

The first single "Tha Way It Iz" is now the number one independent single on both college charts.
Features a bonus DVD, which features footage of Shug performing live on tour, and alsorare glimpses of Dj Premier working his magic in the studio. This is a MUST HAVE for die-hard Gangstarr fans everywhere !!
