Assassination plot against 50 Cent

US investigators claim to have found evidence of an assassination plot against 50 Cent, America’s biggest selling music artist, allegedly hatched by a convicted drugs trader in revenge for some of the rapper’s lyrics. Kenneth ’Supreme’ McGriff was angered by 50 Cent`s song ’Ghetto Koran,’ which told the history of McGriff`s ’Supreme Team’ drug gang, the New York Daily News reported Wednesday.

Court documents emerged on Wednesday that show federal investigators believed there was a possible conspiracy between the New York drug lord Kevin "Supreme" McGriff and some employees of the music label Murder Inc to kill the rapper. "Messages transmitted over the Murder Inc. pager indicate that McGriff is involved in an ongoing plot to murder this rap artist," wrote Internal Revenue Service agent Francis Mace in a 2003 affidavit. The document references specific two-way pages between McGriff and members of the Inc., including Chris Gotti. It also says when law-enforcement agents questioned 50 in 2002, he told them that he keeps a considerable amount of security around because he fears for his safety.

The investigators have also examined whether the killing of Jam Master Jay, member of Run DMC, in 2002 was connected to the alleged feud between 50 Cent and McGriff.
