Arrest Warrant Issued For DMX
A Phoenix Judge issued an arrest warrant for DMX on Friday (December 5) after the rapper failed to appear at a scheduled court hearing earlier that morning.
DMX, real name Earl Simmons, was due in court to face charges of drug possession, identity theft and animal cruelty from three separate arrests.
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Michael Kemp ruled that Simmons must now post $120,000 cash bond or face being arrested and jailed. He further stipulated that unlike the previous $10,000 and $25,000 bonds which allowed DMX to pay just 10 percent and secure his release, the new amount must be paid in full.
According to Charles
Kolzelka, Simmons’ attorney, the rapper is currently receiving treatment at
an undisclosed rehab facility. Simmons was supposed to show the judge documentation
proving he is currently in rehab, but failed to do so.
