Soulja Boy only starts at #43 on the charts
Who debuted #1 on Billboard’s Rap Albums Charts? Plies with his third solo album The Realist selling a solid 114,600 units and featuring Ashanti and Sean Garrett.
TI’s Paper Trail is #2 with 54,700 more discs sold this week for a total of 1,443,700 albums sold.
Ludacris keeps doing it for Hip Hop as his new album Theater of The Mind has find 48,300 new fans. After 5 weeks out, Luda has sold 380,800 units.
After a campaign telling everybody that he would sell a million albums in the first week, Soulja Boy only manages to enter the charts at #4 with his second album ISouljaBoyTellEm moving only 45,500 units despite appearances from Gucci Mane and Shawty Lo.
Common is #6 and sells 116,800 copies of Universal Mind Control after two weeks on the charts.
Young Jeezy is up at #7 this week as The Recession bags 14,200 more copies for a total of 684,200.
Scarface’s last album Emeritus is #8 for a total of 68,800 while LAX from The Game stands at 619,800 discs sold after 18 weeks on the charts.
Elsewhere we find Mr. West sellin’ another 138,900 units for a total of 858,800 copies of 808s & Heartbreak sold. Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III is still hot with 38,800 albums sold this week pushing his total to 2,817,600 units.
On the R&B Charts : we’re glad to see Keyshia Cole’s new album A Different Me selling a strong 322,100 copies for his first week in stores while Jamie Foxx is right behind with a very impressive 265,400 units sold in 7 days with his album Intuition .
