50 Cent recently weighed in on Dr. Dre’s long-awaited Detox release and offered his take on the album’s ten-year delay.

I think this is more of a marketing idea than quality of music. Dr Dre is very smart individual when it comes to the music business, this is probably not the best time to release a record due to the economic crisis we are facing. I think Detox will eventually come out once things get better.. it may be 2010 or 2011 or later but I do know it’s going to be a different kind of record that has the new hiphop and r&b touch to it with dre’s flavor surrounded by it. it’s been 10 yesrs but if you wanna release the best record why not take ur time till ur satisfied if it’s gonna be the record that stands out like beautiful tropical island instead of the next big thing that’ll be forgotten in a while so Dr Dre take ur time and I think relapse is a lesson for inter scope to learn to change their style from what it used to be it’s no longer the 2000s anymore now with all the young artist who set different expectations you gotta do something different like them and also stand out because of the high recognition you had over the years so all I can say is just be smart about what you gonna release and experiment if it’s gonna be the record that stands out and good example of that is Micheal Jackson’s thriller...
