Pontiac Enlists 50 Cent to Help Introduce New Models

2010 Pontiac G8 Sport Truck : 2008 New York Auto Show

50 Cent has helped introduce three new Pontiacs at the New York International Auto Show.

The rapper said Wednesday he has a customized version of the new 400-horsepower G8 GXP and wants a G8 sport truck, a two-seater with a six-foot bed. He also says the new Solstice Coupe is faster than a Porsche Boxster. Pontiac is holding a contest to name the sport truck. 50 Cent suggests "the Curtis." The G8 GXP will come with a manual transmission and run from 0 to 60 in less than five seconds. And, according to 50 Cent (it feels great to attribute this to 50 Cent), the new Soltice hardtop can match or maybe even outperform the Porsche Cayman, which sells for twice the price.

Pontiac is running an online contest at www.pontiac.com/namethatcar to find a new label for its "segment-bending" G8. And not only can you suggest a new name, you can actually win one of these oddly styled, yet sufficiently powered V8 performance trucks.
